Message: Don't Quit Now
YOU CAN DRAW NEAR TO GOD WITH CONFIDENCE
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.. Hebrews 10:19, 22 (NIV)
23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)
THE COMMUNITY OF FAITH KEEPS YOU CLIMBING
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
REMEMBER WHO SUSTAINED YOU BEFORE
32 Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering. 33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. Hebrews 10:32-33 (NIV)
35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Hebrews 10:35 (NIV)
A SOBER WARNING AND CONFIDENT HOPE
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:36 (NIV)
38 And,
“But my righteous[g] one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.”[h]
39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.
Hebrews 10:38-39 (NIV)

Faith Exercise:
Many of us have experienced times in our lives when we hit a rut that we struggle to break free from. It is not a life-altering crisis event, but rather a slow, gradual suffering where nothing seems to go our way, slowly eroding our faith. Sound familiar? The book of Hebrews was written specifically for this situation. Draw confidently close to Jesus. Your community of faith will lift you up. This is the kind of faith we all need—the kind that lasts through several long suffering periods. Today’s faith exercise asks you: Is this the kind of faith I have? Consider the following thoughtfully:
• When do you typically begin to doubt God’s character?
• What does my reaction to suffering and hardship reveal about my own faith?
• Looking back on previous struggles, how did God show up for me?
Pray:
“Dear Jesus, grant me a level of faith that will see me through each battle that I will face. With each victory may my faith grow. Grant me the grace as sufficiently needed, in Jesus’ name Amen.
Live:
Endurance is not just an optional part of faith; it is a key indicator of its authenticity. If life is not going as you hoped right now, that does not mean God has abandoned you. It is not a reason to give up on Him. There are two types of people: those who give up when things get tough, and those whose faith remains strong even when they cannot see the end. Which one will you strive to be my friends? Let us all help one another to achieve this level and extend it to others.
